Students
The GYM program aims to provide academic and social-emotional support to the child under your care by pairing them with an engaging and relatable teen mentor. As part of the program, the child under your care will attend weekly mentoring sessions over an accessible, safe, online video platform that focuses on improving academic skills and encouraging social connectedness. These sessions are personalized to individual student needs to ensure they have all resources necessary for success. Onboarding
Your child has been invited to join the GYM program as a student.
The Program Coordinator will send the caregiver the program information and additional documents to fill out.
The Program Coordinators will assign a mentor to the caregiver’s child, and will provide The Family Room (TFR) account log-in information and additional information about the mentor.
The caregiver attends a TFR/Google Meets meeting with the Program Advisor and mentor.
Mentoring Process
The student attends a weekly mentoring session with their assigned mentor.
At anytime, the caregiver can reach out to the Program Coordinators about a need to reschedule, to ask for a different mentor, express concerns about the program, etc.
Once a month, the caregiver, mentor, and Program Advisor coordinate a time to speak to discuss the progress of the student.
